Crime Prevention

Sgt. Cody Jones heads the Crime Prevention Division and is the Emergency Management Liaison for the Randall County Sheriff’s Office. Sgt. Jones began his law enforcement in 1995 at Potter County Sheriff’s Office as a jailer. Sgt. Jones then served 15 years at Canyon Police Department where he spent 14 years as the School Liaison Officer for Canyon High School. Sgt. Jones is a Master Peace Officer and a Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Management Administration. Sgt. Jones is Field Training Officer, Instructor, Crime Prevention Inspector, Mental Health Peace Officer, Hostage Negotiator, and a Firearms Instructor.

The primary function of the Crime Prevention Office is to participate and interact with the citizens of Randall County to affect a reduction in the number of crimes and to enhance the quality of life in our community.

Crime Prevention Subdivisions:

Citizen Academy Student Academy

The Randall County Sheriff's Crime Prevention Program will include activities such as:

- Establish Neighborhood Watch Programs
- Assist with security issues in both businesses and homes with security surveys
- Provide for Operation I.D.
- Work with Crimestoppers

Available to present programs to the public through the media and personal appearances such as:

- Crimes Against Children
- Crimes Against the Elderly
- Personal Protection
- Drug Awareness and Education
- Armed Robbery
- Theft and Identity Theft
- Rape Awareness
- Gangs
- Home Security Inspections
